'A WARD AGAINST THE UNDOING' PRINT
AUD
85
A4 Edition of 9 giclee prints on Ilford textured cotton rag 310gsm paper
Root-bound and resting in our earthen cloak.
The way we’ve always been
not dormant, but whirring quietly in hidden depths
our fingertips reach out, entangled
in humic embrace.
A hurried knock, followed by another
now rushing upswell – I’m wrenched from us
Through the twisted passageway and into the above.
Arisen.
The earth alight, above, brilliant and dew-dressed
where time is regnant
life spills out of life
A kind of glittering
Broken only by
A plague’d swarm, thick and greedy
it snatches at us, breaking limb
it consumes. Cannibal, it was
once us, now fouled;
swallowing even its own skin.
Each day passes,
the bleeding edge draws near.
Ripping at our net,
we are now in tatters; The Undoing.
One-flash-two
a beacon it beckons;
speculum-sacrosanct-
come collect your demon !
